I found myself having a really visceral reaction to trying to write this. I felt a real resistance, I don’t want to admit the gender expectations are still as they are or that there are fathers who need to hear this! I also found myself feeling afraid of any backlash, I appreciate this post is specifically about a mother/father family set up and decided not to try and include the rainbow of other forms a family may take.
If your family setup isn’t mentioned then please know I am not ignoring you, I am just addressing the issues found in a traditional dynamic. X
