Growing up, I felt very comfortable telling my dad anything..

We ‘fix’ because we love our kids.  We want to solve their problems and shield them from pain.

The issue is that when we constantly jump in to fix our kids’ problems, we may hurt them in the long run.

Offering constant advice can not only hurt our kids’ ability to problem-solve independently, but it can also hurt their trust in us and make them less likely to confide in us in the future.

Here are more benefits to letting our kids vent 👇

✔️ Letting our kids vent helps them release stress and frustration, promoting better emotional health.

✔️ Encouraging open dialogue helps develop their communication skills and teaches them how to express themselves constructively.

✔️ Understanding our kids’ inner worlds will help us support them better in the future.

✔️ Kids who are listened to judgment-free have higher self-esteem.
